The Lanzarote athlete Carla Medina managed this weekend to be European champion in the Europe Cup 2024 of the FIJJD, the International Jiu Jitsu Federation, held in the city of Valencia.
The young woman competed in the -32 kg category in gray belt. She won her two arm lock fights, which led her to first place and win the coveted gold medal. "With this victory I secure the runner-up position in the Spain Tour BJJ 2024 in the female kid category," she says.
"I'm left with the thorn in my side of not having gone to Getxo and not having added more points in Salou and having made things more difficult for María Irigollrn, but from here I congratulate her on her first place.
Now, the athlete will focus on the final stage of the Canary Islands circuit on December 14 to collect more joys for the sport of Lanzarote.
