Carla Medina from Lanzarote has become the champion of the female child B category in the Spanish Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship. The young athlete, who belongs to the Taz Lanzarote sports club, was received this Wednesday by the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, and the Minister of Sports, Juan Monzón.
Betancort congratulated the athlete "for her commitment to this martial art, as it is taking her to championships at a national level." "Standing out in the sports world is an impressive achievement, and it demonstrates the great dedication of the young athlete from Lanzarote," he concluded.
For his part, the Minister of Sports, Juan Monzón, stated that "her skill and technique in Brazilian jiu-jitsu is worthy of admiration." "Carla defeated all her opponents during the match, securing her place on the podium in her last fight after six seconds from the initial gong," he stressed.
During the Spanish Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship, Carla Medina faced two rivals. She emerged victorious from the first fight thanks to a triangle technique in just over a minute, while in the second she defeated her opponent using an arm lock in just six seconds.
The athlete will face the next championship, which will be the Kimura on June 1 in Malaga.
