In the penultimate attacking play by Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife, the visiting team was penalized for passive play and, in the continuation of the play, Javi Aragón passed the ball to the wing, an action that was sanctioned by the referees as sabotage.

Emiliano Villaverde was responsible for taking the seven-meter throw, and Ibrahim Sambe made a great save in goal to stop the shot. Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife mounted a quick counter-attack, Javier Espinosa passed to Abián Martín, and the pivot did not miss from the six-meter line to score at the buzzer.
