The first few minutes of the match were a back-and-forth of goals, with both teams adjusting their game systems on the court of the Pabellón Municipal de Tacoronte. The home team managed to build a two-goal lead, an advantage that was quickly neutralized with goals from Joel Armas, one from the left wing and the second after finishing a counter-attack (7-7).

The first half ended with a partial score of 1-4, with San José Obrero going into halftime with a three-goal lead (8-11).
In the second half, Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife was unable to pull away on the scoreboard, and "Sermarther" Ciudad de Tacoronte remained in the game.
