The youngest members of the Auria Badminton Club's competition team had an appointment this past weekend at the TOP TTR Tuineje, a tournament held at the IES Vigán Pavilion facilities and organized by CD Pajaritos Playas de Tuineje. Throughout the two days of competition, the players of the Auria Badminton Club had an outstanding performance, achieving a total of four medals; one gold and three silver.
The Auria Badminton Club's competition team traveled to the island of Fuerteventura on Saturday morning, actively participating in the TOP TTR Tuineje. The expedition was composed this time by Lucía Rincón López, Nerea Padrón Castro, Jacob López Morales, Álvaro Guadalupe Medina, Isaac Rincón López, Yraya García Gil, Hugo de la Paz Paradas Martín, and David Rodríguez Torres.
All of them were accompanied during the weekend by Jorge Pérez, who performed the duties of coach.
Álvaro Guadalupe, in the under-11 category, started as the number two seed in the tournament and lived up to the predictions. In the group stage, he defeated Acaymo Marrero (15-9, 15-6) and Neyzan Roque Pérez (15-3, 15-1), advancing to the semi-final round in which he won against Eduardo Jesús González (15-6, 15-7). In the final, the Auria Badminton Club player defeated Leiner Leonel Inlago (15-10, 15-13), winning the gold medal.
Álvaro Guadalupe also climbed onto the podium in the men's doubles category of the under-13s, partnering with Jacob López. The players from Lanzarote won their three matches in the group stage, defeating Gorka Luján – Raúl Peña (21-2, 21-6), Isan Rodríguez – Martín Adrián Ruiz (21-11, 21-10) and Diego Ramírez – Yael Saavedra (21-15, 189-21, 21-5). In the grand final, they fell to Antonio Jesús Fumero and Aarón Mayor (17-21, 17-21), which allowed them to win the silver medal.
Good performance also starring Hugo de la Paz Paradas and Isaac Rincón in the men's doubles of the under-11 category, achieving the silver medal. They reached the final by obtaining victory in the two matches of the group stage, in which they won against Guayre Hernández – Nicolás Nauzet Suárez (15-8, 15-9) and Yoel Hoyos – Neyzan Roque Pérez (16-14, 15-1). In the final, they were defeated by Eduardo Jesús González and Francisco José González (9-15, 6-15).
The pair formed by David Rodríguez and Nerea Padrón climbed to the second step of the podium, winning the silver medal in the mixed doubles of the under-13 category. The two Auria Badminton Club players won their matches in the group stage, defeating Alex García – Lucía Saa (21-6, 21-5) and Felipe Pérez – María Siverio (21-13, 8-21, 21-17). In the final, they fell to Diego González and Ainhoa Barreto (18-21, 19-21).
A gold medal and three silver medals in the TOP TTR Tuineje, endorse the good work of the lower categories of the Auria Badminton Club, competing this past weekend against the most outstanding players of the archipelago and that invites to continue working in each of the trainings.
