The Catalunya TOP TTR Blanes, an N7 category tournament, featured a wide representation from the Auria Badminton Club, a team that had the participation of 14 players in the tournament held in different categories. After an intense day of competition on Saturday, the players from the Lanzarote club finished the tournament with a balance of 8 medals; 5 silvers and 3 bronzes. These results confirm the good work that is being done in these first weeks of the season.
The Sports City Pavilion of Blanes hosted a new edition of the Catalunya TOP TTR Blanes on Saturday, with the participation of more than 200 players of all ages. The Auria Badminton Club was represented by Isaac Rincón, Kaiwen Shi, Álvaro Guadalupe, Jacob López, Nerea Padrón, Yraya García, Lucía Rincón,
Patricia Vargas, Ariadna Moreno, Zhi Tao Li, Rubén Jorge, Alejandro Rijo, Adrián Carabali, and Oliver Gausmann.
In the individual category, Nerea Padrón won the silver medal in the under-13 female category. Despite starting the tournament with a defeat against Nuria Paniagua (10-21, 12-21), the Auria Badminton Club player recovered to beat Ainhoa Serra (21-12, 18-21, 24-22), a player who started as the number one seed, and Elsa
Martínez (21-5, 21-11), climbing to the second step of the podium.
In the U19 men's category, Adrián Carabali competed for the chance to reach the grand final of the TOP TTR Blanes, ultimately being defeated by Joan Callau (9-21, 6-21), and taking home the bronze. And the third medal in the individual category was achieved by Ariadna Moreno, winning the bronze in the U19 women's category.
Isaac Rincón and Kaiwen Shi won the silver medal in the men's U11 doubles category. The Auria Badminton Club players defeated Eloy Fuentes – Bruc Galbany (15-11, 15-8) and were defeated by Daniel Hormigo – Gabriel Triguero (6-15, 7-15). The pair formed by Yraya García and Lucía Rincón also won the silver medal in the women's U15 category doubles, as well as Jacob López and Nerea Padrón in the mixed doubles of the U13 category. And Zhi Tao Li and Ariadna Moreno won bronze in the mixed doubles of the U19 category.
The Auria Badminton Club's medal count in the Catalunya TOP TTR Blanes was completed with the silver medal won by Oliver Gausmann together with Samuel Tarife in the men's doubles of the absolute category. They reached the grand final by defeating Carlos Cano – Oscar Muñoz (21-10, 21-14) in the first round, Adrián Carabali – Xavier Enseñat (21-14, 21-15) in the quarterfinals, and Álvaro Hernández – Eduardo Martínez (13-21, 24-22, 21-18) in the semifinals. And in the final, they were defeated by Marc Gallardo – Pol Vilar (16-21, 15-21).
Auria Badminton Club successfully concludes its participation in the Catalunya TOP TTR Blanes, winning five silver medals and three bronzes. The next event for the competition team will be the Canary Islands Badminton Absolute Championship, held on October 18 and 19 in La Laguna, Tenerife.
