The celebration of Ocean Lava 2025 will cause various road closures in Lanzarote. Find out here about the closures so you can see the different alternative routes:

Affected routes and schedules

  1. AVENIDA LAS PLAYAS
    From C/ Lapa to C/ Rusia
    07:00 to 12:00 hours

  2. AVENIDA LAS PLAYAS
    From C/ Yugoslavia to C/ Rusia
    07:00 to 16:00 hours

  3. CALLE NORUEGA
    From Avenida Las Playas to Rambla Islas Canarias
    07:00 to 14:00 hours

  4. LZ-40 (Airport - Pto. del Carmen)
    From the Matagorda detour to El Toro
    07:00 to 11:30 hours

Closures during Friday, October 24

From 8:00 a.m. on Friday, October 24 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, closure of the section of AVENIDA LAS PLAYAS between C/ Rusia and C/ Yugoslavia.
Diversion: via C/ Rusia and C/ Yugoslavia.

Closures during Saturday, October 25

  • From 07:00 to 14:00 hours, closure of the section from C/ Suiza → Avenida Francia → C/ Hungría and C/ Lapa → C/ Rusia.

  • From 07:00 to 11:30 hours, closure of CALLE NORUEGA, between Avenida Las Playas and Rambla Islas Canarias; also closure of the section of RAMBLA ISLAS CANARIAS between the roundabout of C/ Finlandia and the roundabout of C/ Noruega, and of both lanes of the LZ-40 between the El Toro roundabout and the Matagorda detour.

  • Due to this event, the following is specified:

    • Access to Rancho Texas and CPDEM Hispano Británico will not be enabled until 09:30 hours.
      From that time on, both establishments can be accessed and exited.

    • From 08:00 to 11:30 hours, Camino Mónjip Negro from Lagar de La Abadía to Av. Francia will remain closed.
      Calle Noruega will not be accessible from Calle Hungría or from Rambla Islas Canarias.

    • Regulated vehicle crossing will be allowed on Av. Las Playas towards the Airport between 11:00 and 11:30 hours (Matagorda area), towards Rambla Islas Canarias (C/ Rusia and Av. Francia).

    • Taxis and buses may access Rambla Islas Canarias via C/ Noruega.

    • On Rambla Islas Canarias, access to the streets Finlandia, Holanda, and Noruega will remain closed.

Access to Puerto del Carmen

For access to Puerto del Carmen, the following is recommended:

  • Between 07:00 and 11:30 hours, access via Matagorda (from INDELSA) only to the areas of Pocillos and Matagorda.
    Access to the urban center of Puerto del Carmen must be done by another route.

  • Access through Mácher and Puerto Calero towards C/ Reina Sofía will remain open at all times.

  • Access through Tías via the LZ-505 (Camino Los Olivos) towards C/ Juan Carlos I will remain open.

Departures from Puerto del Carmen

  • The exit from C/ Juan Carlos I towards the airport and Arrecife will be closed at 05:30 hours.

  • The exit from C/ Reina Sofía towards Mácher and Puerto Calero will remain open at all times.

  • The road from Tías to Puerto del Carmen (LZ-504) will be open to enter and exit Puerto del Carmen between C/ Juan Carlos I and Camino Los Olivos.

  • The exit from Matagorda in the direction of the Airport-Arrecife will remain open at all times.
