The XI Famara Total experienced one of its most special days this Friday with the celebration of the Famara Total Chinija, an event dedicated entirely to the youngest members of the family and which once again filled Caleta de Famara with sport, enthusiasm, and many smiles.
After the spectacular Vertical Nocturna held on Thursday, the spotlight shifted this Friday to the new generations. And it did so with figures that speak for themselves: 390 children registered, making the children's race one of the main pillars of the Famara Total.
Depa, the event's speaker, already highlighted this during the official presentation of the XI Famara Total. The well-known communicator assured that, among the many races he participates in throughout the year, Famara is undoubtedly one of the children's events with the highest participation of all those held in the national territory, emphasizing the presence of nearly 400 future trail runners.
The afternoon began with an unbeatable atmosphere. Before the races started, adults and children enjoyed a lively Zumba warm-up, which served to energize the participants and also for parents and family members to join the party.
After this fun warm-up, the moment everyone had been waiting for arrived. The organization had prepared different circuits adapted to the ages of the participants, allowing each group to enjoy the experience of running in Famara in a way suitable to their characteristics.
Some of the names who have written their own history in the Famara Total and are true references of Canarian trail running also joined the great party for the little ones. Yoel de Paz, Alejandro Mayor, and Yasmina Castro swapped competition for a very special role for an afternoon, acting as pacers for the children on the different routes. The three shared the race, encouragement, and smiles with the young participants, becoming an extra boost of motivation for those who may be the future runners of Canarian trail running.
Their presence brought a particularly beautiful image to the day: athletes who already know what it means to win and compete at the highest level in Famara, this time running alongside the youngest, accompanying them in their first steps and transmitting their passion for this sport up close.
Nerves before starting, laughter during the races, hugs upon crossing the finish line, and many good moments shared were some of the images left by an afternoon in which the sporting results took a back seat. The main objective was to enjoy, promote sports practice from an early age, and allow the little ones to also experience firsthand what it's like to be part of the Famara Total.
Family members and the public accompanied the young participants throughout the day, generating a great atmosphere and once again turning the Caleta de Famara surroundings into a meeting point for sports.
The XI Famara Total, organized by the Teguise City Council, counts on the organizational services of Cronoline Eventos and the collaboration of the Cabildo de Lanzarote and Lanzarote Sports Destination for its development.
