On October 7th, the 'XIV International Karate Tournament Palma del Río' was held in the Cordoban town of Palma del Río. A championship in which the best national karatekas have participated, including members
of the Spanish national team in the Cadet, Junior and Sub21 categories, as well as karatekas from Portugal, in which Amelie Skiba participated in the Female Cadet Kata category and in the Female Cadet Kumite -58 kg category. The karateka from the Arrecife club obtained bronze medals in both modalities.
In the kata modality, she obtained 22, 23, 30 and 40 points in the first and second rounds, respectively, which meant a total of 45.70, which earned her the bronze in the category. But it is worth highlighting her performance in the kumite modality, in which in five fights she obtained four victories, falling in the semi-finals after a 1-1 on the scoreboard, but because her opponent had obtained senshu, winning the bronze final against one of the competitors of the national team.
Amelie is consolidating herself among the most complete karatekas in her category at the national level, given her competitive level in both kata and kumite.
