Alonso Pérez Fernández, a sailor from the 'Real Club Náutico de Arrecife', won the title of champion of the Spanish Cup in the ILCA 4 class last weekend, which was held in the waters of Valencia, where he beat the Catalan Quim Ferrer, who achieved the same points in the general classification, with the Lanzarote native taking the title by beating his rival in the last leg. Alonso had a participation from less to more on the first day of regattas, starting with a third place, and in the second leg he came second and won in the third race. In the fourth race he finished eleventh, achieving the goal of beating Quim Ferrer with whom he was competing for the title.

The under-16 sailor Ulises Montesdeoca, also from the RCN of Arrecife, finished in 112th place in the general classification and 28th in his category. The lack of wind conditioned the calendar and only four races could be held. The event organized by the 'Real Club Náutico' of Valencia fulfilled the program on the first day with three races, in the remaining two days only one more leg could be held due to the low intensity and instability of the wind.

Alonso Pérez was part of the Canarian team composed of 15 sailors from the RCN of Arrecife, RCN of Gran Canaria, RCN of Tenerife, Club de Mar Radazul of Tenerife and Club de Regatas 4 Vientos of Lanzarote. Among them, Patricia Pérez (RCN Gran Canaria) achieved fourth place in the women's category. There were 142 sailors registered in the four categories representing the communities of Catalonia, Murcia, Andalusia, Balearic Islands, Cantabria, Euskadi, Galicia, Valencia and the Canary Islands.
