The Lanzarote driver Alexis Romero managed to get on the podium in the first round of the FIA European Bajas Cup, held this weekend on the occasion of the I Baja TT Cuenca, a race marked by the toughness of the course and especially complicated weather conditions.
Romero finished in third position within the T3 Challenge category after successfully completing two intense days of competition in which mud, rain, and terrain deterioration pushed both drivers and mechanics to their limits. The race, contested over demanding selective sectors, ended up being more an exercise in survival and strategy than a race purely against the clock. The constant rainfall transformed a large part of the course into extremely delicate areas, forcing maximum concentration and precision to be maintained on every kilometer.
Despite the difficulties, Alexis Romero managed to maintain a solid and regular pace throughout the competition, avoiding errors and intelligently managing a race that was especially complicated from the start.
“It has been a very tough test, with a lot of mud and really difficult sections. The goal was to finish and be on the podium, and we have achieved it. I am very satisfied with the work done by the whole team,” said the Lanzarote driver at the end of the race.
The stages disputed during both days also left spectacular images, with vehicles crossing completely muddy tracks and very technical sections that tested the adaptability of all participants.
With this result, Alexis Romero starts his participation in the FIA European Baja Cup positively, achieving an important podium in one of the most demanding events on the calendar.
