The Teguise City Council closed this Saturday the XI edition of Famara Total, a sporting event that once again brought together runners, families, and fans in Caleta de Famara for three days of competition and which had Alejandro Mayor Guzmán and Yasmina Castro Chacón as winners of the main distance, 45 kilometers.
The day began at 7:00 AM with the start of the 45 kilometers and continued throughout the morning with the rest of the modalities. The meteorological conditions, with overcast skies during the first hours, accompanied the development of the races and allowed participants to tackle the demanding routes around Famara with moderate temperatures.
In the men's 45-kilometer category, Alejandro Mayor Guzmán, from C.D. Oso Canarias Cultural Vertical, achieved victory, followed by Yonet González Ramos, and Octavio León Díaz, from C.D. Stone.
In the women's category, Yasmina Castro Chacón, from Tinganar, was proclaimed the winner. Raquel Rivero Delgado, from Aiadelante Team Tenerife, was second, and Vianney González Luis completed the podium.
The mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, congratulated the winners and all the participants and highlighted that “Famara Total is already a race very closely linked to La Caleta and, especially, to the people of Caleta, who feel it as their own and get involved every year for it to continue growing. That support from the town, combined with the work of the organization and all the people who collaborate, is one of the keys to understanding what this event represents for Teguise today.”
Double victory for Yoel de Paz and Anya Lamprecht
The 25 kilometers saw another of the edition's standout results. Yoel de Paz Baeza, from WildTrailProject, achieved the men's victory, while Anya Lamprecht Alfonso, from C.D. Latitud 29º, won in the women's category.
Both thus completed a double in the XI Famara Total after also being crowned winners of the Vertical Nocturna held on Thursday.
In the 15 kilometers, the victories went to Ione Guerra Almeida, from Arista Pro Team, and Ildiko Csilla Biro, from JCHRunning. For their part, Tinguaro Quintero del Rosario, from Tenerife CajaCanarias, and María Camacho Pérez, from Club Atletismo Brisas de El Paso, were the winners of the 7.5 kilometers.
The Councilor for Sports of the Teguise City Council, Alejandro Ramírez, made a positive assessment of this eleventh edition and thanked "the effort of all the runners and the work of the organization, volunteers, security forces and emergency services, which are fundamental for a competition of these characteristics to be developed with all guarantees".
