The island of volcanoes is experiencing the sporting event of the year this Saturday, May 25: the Ironman Lanzarote. La Voz brings you the best images of this sporting event.

The iron men have to overcome the 3.8 kilometers swimming; 180 by bicycle; and they finish with a marathon in Puerto del Carmen of 42.2 kilometers. In addition, the security forces have to watch over the spectators who go to Puerto del Carmen and the thousands of people who come to encourage the athletes along the 180 kilometers of bicycle route.

The security and control device of the event will have the participation of traffic agents of the Civil Guard, Local Police, as well as auxiliary volunteers, authorized and duly identified, who will be stationed at the crossings of the roads through which the event passes.

Personnel from the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote, Civil Protection of the municipalities of the island, the Salvamar patrol boat of the Government of the Canary Islands, Emerlan, Security and Emergencies of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, as well as personnel from the Cabildo of Lanzarote and Club La Santa will also participate.

More than 75 Civil Guard officers participate in the aforementioned device, including agents from the Traffic Subsector, Reserve Unit, Citizen Security, Helicopter Unit, Provincial Maritime Service and Cynological Service.
