The noise of the cowards

“And loudly shout those who have never been audacious, those who put on serious faces and accuse me of living”.

This phrase from the mythical band Ilegales is not just a rock lyric. The world is saturated with individuals who have made inhibition a flag and criticism a way of life. It is the X-ray of a resentment that is not born of injustice, but of their own impotence.

The ability to take risks to undertake, change course or break molds, is today a scourged virtue. In a society that rewards lukewarm uniformity, authenticity is perceived as a threat. It is much simpler to point out from anonymity than to manage one's own uncertainties.

The world is full of salon censors who possess brilliant solutions for problems they have never had the courage to face. It is easy to be upright when there is no temptation, and simple to be brave when there is nothing at stake

However, the audacious one (the one who risks their heritage, their surname or their own peace for an idea) contracts an inescapable commitment with error. And error is the noble byproduct of action. The one who makes a mistake possesses a dignity that the critic will never be able to achieve, because it is proof that they have tried not to submit to reality.

Those who watch from the sidelines are neat, but only because they are sterile. They build nothing, so they dedicate themselves to the demolition of enthusiasm. The daring of others only highlights their indolence.

Mediocrity is gregarious. It needs everyone to walk at the same pace so as not to feel small. Let us not allow the clamor of those who only watch to silence the (almost sacred) right to live with audacity.

To live with determination is the only act of real sovereignty in a society that rewards the transparency of those who do not bother. Let us dare to devour life, not to die resigned by slogans designed to domesticate the spirit…
