Reducto beach and the complicit silence of ASOLAN, the armed wing of the right

It's incredible but true, Reducto beach has been closed for swimming since October 14th due to sewage spills. But even more incredible is the silence of ASOLAN, the Lanzarote hotel association, which sees no problem with the main beach of the capital and the image on Arrecife's postcards being flooded with sewage water for over 3 months with no solution in sight. It is at this point that the citizens of Lanzarote in general, and socialists in particular, must reflect: What would happen if this beach were closed and the mayor's office were in the hands of the PSOE?

It's easy to imagine Susana Pérez would be talking about the terrible impact on the island's image. From this employers' association, pressure would be put on the media, which would have to fill talk shows day after day with the ruin of the city, the island, and the history of Lanzarote. Others would talk about the incompetence of the public sector and the left, and that it's a historical fact... there would be talk of resignation, responsibility, shame. We've seen it with much smaller issues...

In this case, the mayor is from the Popular Party: Have we heard ASOLAN say anything? Not a peep, they look better when they're quiet. Doesn't it seem curious to them that the beach affects the city's main accommodation facility? Have you seen them send any press releases? By the way, I don't think it's very good for the cruise passengers, tens of thousands who have disembarked at the Port in three months, to see a red flag with a blotch that perfectly represents the capacity of the current mayor when he's not being investigated by the prosecutor's office, or has a big party ahead of himAsolan's silence is not the silence of the entire tourism sector; it's more the silence of an association hijacked by the right in its leadership. And as far as I'm concerned, I think they have every right to insult the PSOE and live in permanent genuflection to the Popular Party. Yes sir, they have the right to do so. But I also believe that we citizens need to know when the opinion of an association is worth less than the waste flooding the beach ofReduction. Because these organizations only pursue the well-being of some of their directors, and they certainly achieve that better with the PP in government, even if it means closing all the island's beaches and negatively affecting their own associates.Postscript from Fitur: What will the mayor of Arrecife present this year? The beach closed due to fecal spills? The carnival poster that doesn't exist yet? Or the prosecutor's office's filings? It doesn't matter because as long as the one in charge is from the right, Susana Pérez is happy
