We express our absolute rejection, pain and outrage at the inhuman murders of at least 37 people when they were trying to access Melilla fleeing from hunger, wars and misery. Most of the victims came from countries such as Sudan, South Sudan or Chad, all of them immersed in armed conflicts and likely to receive international protection.
Desolation and death has stained the Southern Border with Melilla, this time at the hands of the Moroccan gendarmerie, which has even entered Spanish soil to carry out hot returns (that does compromise the "territorial integrity") as numerous graphic documents show, while the State Government has dedicated itself to looking the other way and justifying the repressive, illegal and contrary to human rights actions of the kingdom of Morocco, attributing the blame for the massacre to human trafficking mafias is simply shameful.
You can also see in those graphic documents the aggressions, beatings, shootings, gassing and stacking of corpses and injured, without offering them any medical assistance. Why this difference in treatment with the 130,000 Ukrainians who have arrived in the Spanish state since the conflict in their country began?
We are ashamed of the statements of our rulers, specifically that of the President of the Government Pedro Sánchez "He has made a great effort to try to avoid this violent assault, well organized, well perpetrated and well resolved by the two security forces", what the president has said about the police operation in Melilla with the corpses still warm, is simply abominable, that he has come to justify the actions of the Moroccan gendarmerie on Spanish soil, lacking the slightest humanity, seems very sad to us.
By the way, these statements surpass those of José María Aznar when he said twenty-six years ago "We had a problem and we have solved it", justifying the deportations from Melilla of more than a hundred migrants. Handcuffed, blindfolded and drugged with haloperidol so that they would not rebel.
Killing human beings is not international cooperation, they are unpunished murders. The contempt for human life beyond the southern border is beginning to be a constant of this government, the most progressive in the history of democracy. It already was with the endorsement given to the illegal invasion of Western Sahara by Morocco, looking the other way in the face of this violation of International Law of the Saharawi people.
The "No pasarán" was not this, Pedro. It wasn't this.
