As a child and young woman, she lived with her family in the seaside neighborhood of Valterra, in Arrecife. She was always a direct collaborator in the activities of the Carmen parish, and especially in the organization of the neighborhood festivals, which are precisely celebrated this month of July.
Mari Luz Moya was a beloved person in the local society. She stood out for her work and demands in favor of the elimination of architectural barriers in Lanzarote, through the association of which she was its highest representative.

As a young woman she was an entrepreneur and opened a small candy store in the Valterra groups. As an adult she was a seller in the ONCE Kiosk, next to the Valterra Health Center, until her retirement due to severe disability".
In the Arrecife City Council, she collaborated in the previous term to supervise the accessibility of municipal facilities. "She tested the system we implemented in the City Council for the care of people with reduced mobility or disability," recalled the mayor.
