The Yaiza City Council will improve the services of the municipal gym and for this purpose has already published the tender aimed at extending both the opening hours and the directed activities: gymnastics, pilates, training, indoor cycling and functional training, guaranteeing, with more hours of monitoring, a quality sports and health service for residents. The base tender budget is 170,000 euros per year and companies interested in this open procedure can submit offers until Friday, August 14, 2026.
The aim, at a minimum, is for the GYM to remain open from Monday to Friday, from 07:00 to 21:00, and on Saturdays from 08:00 to 14:00, but the City Council will consider proposals for improvements in the offers. "We intend to promote physical activity and sport much more and to favor the municipal program of healthy physical exercise with special attention to our elders," points out Óscar Noda, mayor of Yaiza.
Among other objectives, the Councilor for Sports of Yaiza, Ángel Lago, explains that "the objective is to offer a quality service to the residents, to promote and bring physical activity closer as a tool to improve health, as well as to continue improving attention to users."
To the directed activities, which are carried out with sessions that combine exercises performed in a rhythmic and playful way, always under the supervision of a monitor or sports technician, are added the work in the weight room, cardio, strength and resistance with guided machinery. The municipal gym of Yaiza is located next to the southern football field.
