The Yaiza City Council is working on the execution of the project of improvements in the surroundings of the Canarian wrestling ground of Uga, investing 1.3 million euros from the municipal budget.
Within the set of actions carried out in an area of 17,000 square meters of public land, noteworthy are 300 parking spaces, the construction of a road in front of the facade of the wrestling ground, accessibility works, pedestrian routes and public lighting.
Óscar Noda, Mayor of Yaiza, values this intervention as “one of the projects of total renovation of the area, which complements the rehabilitation project of the sports court annexed to the Uga school and works that improve safety in the accesses of the educational center, all already in execution”.
The Councilor for Public Works of Yaiza, Ángel Lago, explains about the works on the exterior of the terrero that “we are not only updating urban facilities designed to satisfy citizen needs, but the project also includes waterproofing the wrestling field and the adjoining municipal warehouse and its beautification with stone walls”. The public officials visited the works this Thursday, expressing satisfaction with the progress according to the execution deadlines.
Uga is also the object of the works of implementation of the town's sanitation, a project of 1.8 million euros that the City Council in this case co-finances with the Government of Spain.
