The Yaiza City Council published this Wednesday in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas the call for subsidies for the organization of Sports Schools for the 2022 - 2023 season with a total amount of 120,000 euros, also informing directly to the entities linked to the sports training program in different disciplines that "they have until February 15 to gather and register the documentation required by the Institution"
The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, highlights "the support for Sports Schools and the promotion of native sports and other disciplines that have been gaining momentum in the municipality, a support whose continuity we are able to guarantee and we have transmitted this to the different sports entities and individual athletes who do a magnificent job. It is also appropriate to highlight the support and interest of the families of Yaiza so that our boys and girls practice sports."
The Councilor for Sports of Yaiza, Ángel Lago, explains that "the objective is to promote sports from the grassroots, facilitating the initiation practice of boys and girls who are of school age so that the little ones enjoy sports and that the activity helps them in their training in values and the acquisition of healthy habits."
The City Council understands that "in order to achieve such important objectives, clubs have operating expenses, such as remuneration of coaches or monitors, purchase of sports technical material or travel to compete, among others, therefore, the call for subsidies is aimed at helping the good work of formative sports in the municipality."
The call for subsidies considers among its criteria the qualifications of the coaches, the number of athletes registered in each discipline and the work of native sports such as Latin sailing and Canarian wrestling.
