The Popular Party of Yaiza will present an initiative at the next municipal plenary session to promote the creation of a parking lot, underground or multi-story, on the current plot of land located next to the new sports pavilion in Playa Blanca; an infrastructure with capacity for more than a thousand people whose operation will significantly increase the pressure on parking in the area.

From the PP they recall that "the pavilion was designed without underground parking, a shame and a missed opportunity," which is why they consider it essential to act in advance. The plot in question, currently used as an improvised dirt parking lot, "is neither an adequate nor a sustainable solution," they warn.

The municipal spokesperson for the Popular Party in Yaiza, Juan Monzón, emphasizes the urgency of addressing this issue without further delay. "We are talking about an infrastructure that will concentrate hundreds of people for sporting and cultural events, and we cannot wait for traffic and parking problems to appear before acting. It is now that we must plan with sound judgment."

The Popular Party considers that this plot represents "a unique opportunity" to provide the area - which also includes the Health Center - with a **modern, functional parking lot capable of absorbing present and future demand**. Although the most viable option will have to be determined by technical reports, they emphasize that "an underground parking lot with several floors would, a priori, be the most efficient and respectful alternative for the urban landscape."

"An underground car park would reduce the visual impact, allow for many more spaces to be created, and furthermore, the surface could be recovered as a landscaped public space, safe and even compatible with the creation of new ball courts," adds the spokesperson.

The motion registered by the PP requests that the Yaiza City Council prepare the necessary technical studies to determine the feasibility of the action and initiate the procedures for drafting and executing the project.

"Our proposal is constructive and necessary. What we are asking for is planning and a vision for the future. We cannot afford to keep delaying this matter," concludes the popular spokesperson.
