The Yaiza City Council has paid this Thursday the amount of transportation aid for university and higher cycle students corresponding to the 2021 - 2022 academic year. In total, an amount that amounts to 74,650 euros and that has been distributed among 110 students of the municipality who have benefited.
111 applications were submitted to the call published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas on October 5, of which only one has been excluded for not providing the required documentation.
Of the 110 grants awarded, 94 have been for students studying at universities outside the island, who have received 750 euros; 3 for university students on the island or who are studying online, awarded with an amount of 300 euros each; and the remaining 13 correspond to the beneficiaries for completing higher cycle studies, whose amount amounts to 250 euros.
This monetary support granted by the institution chaired by Óscar Noda "is a relief for many families", says the Councilor for Education, Silvia Santana, "and especially for those who study outside the island and who at this time come to celebrate the holidays with their families, a group to which we have also increased the aid by 100 euros per beneficiary in this call, going from 650 in the previous call to 750 euros in the current one".
