The City Council presided over by Óscar Noda this Monday awarded a total of 124,750 euros in transport grants to 117 young university and higher vocational training students who submitted the required documents for the municipal call for the 2025-2026 academic year on time. Of these, 98 university students who proved they were studying in person outside of Lanzarote receive 1,200 euros from this educational support program promoted by the local administration of Yaiza.
For their part, university students pursuing studies on the island, non-face-to-face or online, receive 350 euros; higher vocational training students outside of Lanzarote receive 500 euros, and for those pursuing higher vocational training studies on the island, the scholarship amount is 300 euros.
These grants are aimed at Spanish or EU students, with habitual residence in Yaiza, enrolled during the reference academic year in public and private educational institutions. “University students outside of Lanzarote used to receive 900 euros, and we decided to increase the amount to 1,200 euros, understanding the effort families make to support boys and girls,” points out the mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda.
The City Council also increased the grant for higher vocational training students outside of Lanzarote by 150 euros. The Councilor for Education of Yaiza, Silvia Santana, informs that students can consult the definitive list of scholarships and amounts on the homepage banner www.yaiza.es.
