The Yaiza City Council published the call "for the supply and installation of the inclusive and accessible playground of the Uga picnic area" last Monday, April 10, with a "base bidding budget of 247,000 euros," according to the municipal electronic headquarters. Óscar Noda explains that "the initiative foresees the renovation of games, installation of rubber flooring, accessibility works, and fencing," among other actions.

"The project is part of the Improvement and Implementation Plan for Children's Play Areas in Yaiza," notes Councilor Rubén Arca, and specifically, the intervention of this park "is carried out with full investment of own resources." Furthermore, "the City Council encourages small and medium-sized businesses to participate in this new public tender," the Council notes.

"The installation will have inclusive games, swings, seesaws, combined games, a slide, and play panels"

"The installation will have inclusive games, including swings, seesaws, combined games, a slide, and play panels," they anticipate. "The choice of games has been balanced with activities that include motor, sensory, social, and cognitive stimuli," adds Arca.

"Last March, Yaiza organized a day taught by the expert in park design and accessibility, Eloy Bossom, aimed at informing entities that serve people with special educational needs about the inclusive park guide," he recalls, "where representatives from the Centro de Educación Especial Nuestra Señora de los Volcanes, the Association of Deaf People of Arrecife and Lanzarote (APSAL) participated, expressing concerns and suggestions.

"Yaiza's projects in practice are in line with these initiatives," adds the councilor.
