The City Council, presided over by Óscar Noda, published this Monday a new tender for the comprehensive rehabilitation of seven roads in the tourist town of Playa Blanca, all located in the Las Coloradas area. This works project, co-financed by Yaiza and the Cabildo of Lanzarote, includes actions on accessibility and pedestrian crossings. The works are being put out to tender with a basic budget of one million euros, and companies interested in carrying them out can submit offers until January 12, 2026
Óscar Noda declares that "the investment is aimed at improving the safety of drivers and pedestrians and carrying out complementary works such as signage and the replacement of drains." The City Council informs the public that the streets subject to rehabilitation are: Avenida Papagayo and Las Palmeras, Ombú, El Moral, Playa del Afre, Las Buganvillas, and Las Acacias streets.
In summary, points out the Yaiza Councilor for Public Works, Ángel Lago, "our objective is to renew the pavement, improve pedestrian accessibility, and optimize drainage and road safety, maintaining the current configuration of the roads and guaranteeing safer and more functional conditions for pedestrians and vehicles."With this tender, Óscar Noda emphasizes, "we are shoring up the municipal resurfacing program, confirming our investment commitment with projects financed and co-financed thanks to the sound financial health of the City Council, which is ratified year after year by the management audit carried out by the Government of the Canary Islands." In relation to the deterioration that some streets present due to the storm last weekend, Yaiza has already ordered an emergency action to repair the affected areas of the pavement
