The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, confirms that the City Council positively resolved this Thursday the inter-administrative cooperation requested by the Cabildo of Lanzarote so that the First Island Corporation proceeds to execute the project of installing 25 posts with traveler information screens at intercity bus stops in different towns of the municipality and the interior line of Playa Blanca, an action that has European funds financing.
The project report indicates that the posts are powered by solar energy, so no electrical installation is necessary. In the locations where the digital information posts are installed, the totems that can now be seen at all stops will be removed. Each post will be anchored to the floor and consists of a solar panel, a personalized stop indicator and a 15-inch information screen.
Also pending canopies
“We favorably inform the availability of the land and now we await the execution of the project. In terms of transport, I also remember that we are still waiting for the installation of canopies at the bus stops on the urban public transport line of Playa Blanca”, says the mayor.
In this sense, the Councilor for Transport of Yaiza, Beatriz Vázquez, maintains that “it is another of the commitments of the Cabildo of Lanzarote with Yaiza pending financing. We signed the inter-administrative collaboration for the canopies in September of last year and they have not yet been installed, in fact, in December, when the pilot test of the taxi - bus service in El Golfo began, we personally reminded President Oswaldo Betancort and the problem since then was already a lack of money”.
