The City Council presided over by Óscar Noda made effective this Tuesday the total payment of 92,700 euros to 117 university and higher education students of Yaiza who attended the call and presented the required documentation in a timely manner for the granting of transportation aid for the academic year 2024 - 2025.
The students had the possibility to correct the lack of papers within the deadline established in the regulatory bases of the municipal notice.
Beneficiaries of 900 euros are the university students of Yaiza who accredited studies outside of Lanzarote; 350 euros for university studies on the Island, non-presential or online; 350 euros for higher education studies outside the Island; and 250 euros for higher education studies on the Island.
The aids are directed to Spanish or community students, with habitual residence in Yaiza, enrolled during the academic year of reference in public and private education centers. “We know the effort that families make so that our young people can study, between tuition, rent payment, transportation and living expenses, we are talking about a lot of money, so we understand the payment of these amounts as an aid, because obviously their sacrifice is greater”, points out the mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda.
