The Yaiza City Council has confirmed the awarding of the works for the future Uga Social Club and the attached Canarian ball courts, which will be "a new meeting point located behind the wrestling ground that promotes community life among the residents, offering them better facilities for healthy leisure and the practice of a traditional sport such as Canarian ball", as indicated by the mayor, Óscar Noda.
The initiative foresees the creation of a building for social and sports use, equipped with a central courtyard that will serve as a link between both spaces.
The facilities will have a bar, bathrooms and a multipurpose dining room, and the design also estimates the provision of a kitchen, storage room, pantry, gardens and a covered terrace that serves as an extension of the bar-dining room outdoors.
This work, which has a budget of 805,000 euros, has been awarded to the company Compañía General de Construcción Abaldo S.A and has the co-financing and collaboration of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, within the framework of the Municipal Cooperation Plan of 2021.
