Vandalism in electoral campaign: Primero Teguise posters destroyed

Candidate Jonas Álvarez is clear that "it was intentional" and that "we will probably file a complaint," he confirms.

The electoral campaign posters of Primero Teguise have appeared broken this Wednesday, May 24 in Costa Teguise and Tahíche.

Jonas Álvarez, candidate for mayor for Primero Teguise, has confirmed that it is "the first time this has happened to us" and recognizes that "it was a clean cut, probably made with a cutter," but he is clear that "it was intentional." "The wind didn't take them away," he confirms.

"They did it in the days leading up to the elections so that we don't have time to restore the posters," the candidate assures.

He also asserts that from the party "we have played fair in the elections and respecting the opponents." Therefore, "I don't like the way some political parties or representatives play," confesses Jonas Álvarez. He makes it clear that from Primero Teguise "we are not enemies, we are political opponents and when the campaign is over, we will continue to share a table in the plenary sessions."

"It is clear that these are not posters that children can tear down," since "some are far from the road like the one in Tahíche," Álvarez confirms.

"I have received calls from the PSOE and Lanzarote en Pie to show their support."

"We know that we cannot confirm anything as we have no evidence" but "we will probably file a complaint," as it is something that "could continue to happen," he reveals. In addition, "I have received calls from the PSOE and Lanzarote en Pie to show their support" and offering to help us "with the staff they have available," to "repair the damage caused," he concludes.
