José Torres Stinga, from the Municipal Platform of Haría, has assured this Tuesday morning on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero that a councilor from Compromiso por Haría (CxH) has been stealing electricity from the town hall.

In statements on the morning show Good morning, Lanzarote, Torres has assured that some of the members of the opposition party "intend to do things their way" and has recalled that some "come from the Party of Independents of Lanzarote (PIL)" and that "we already know the way of doing things", in allusion to the PIL representatives who ended up convicted in corruption cases.

The councilor has assured that he recently became aware that a "very clear urbanistic infraction" has occurred and has accused this councilor of carrying out "works during the night" by the butrón system, a technique in which a hole is made between two walls to access another room from the inside. Torres has also reported that there is a Local Police report that certifies these works.

During his radio intervention, the councilman has pointed out that a municipal team is carrying out a report on these works and that when it is finished, the council will decide "what can be done", but for the moment has not filed a complaint for these events.

Likewise, he/she has added that from the opposition "since the technicians say the opposite of what they want to do, then they start calling the technician and tell them who are you to make decisions. Since they don't please them, what they do is split the contracts".

The Municipal Platform of Haría governs in the municipality since July 2024, when it agreed with the PSOE to support the municipal government headed by Alfredo Villalba. At the beginning of the legislature, the socialists began governing with Compromiso por Haría, but a crisis between both parties ended up breaking the agreement.
