Puerto del Carmen already has "a 100 x 100 accessible beach". This was reported by the Tías City Council, which has completed a series of actions to make Playa Grande "accessible for people in wheelchairs or with reduced mobility." The works have had an investment of close to 250,000 euros from the Lanzarote Tourist Infrastructure Plan, through the Cabildo.
Specifically, the beach has been equipped with new accessible access ramps, adapted bathrooms, an adapted shower with a suspended seat and a covered solarium area. Numbered information panels indicate the services and ideal areas to access the beach with wheelchairs or reduced mobility
In addition, the Tías City Council has an amphibious chair service that, upon prior request, allows people with reduced mobility to have the assistance of a lifeguard and lifeguard free of charge to help them with their movements and needs inside the beach.
Similarly, and to complete accessibility, several parking spaces have been set up on Avenida de las Playas for vehicles intended for people with disabilities. These parking spaces are located next to the beach area intended for these users.
