The festivities in honor of Our Lady of Carmen have been an example of coexistence, participation, and respect, turning Puerto del Carmen and the Varadero area into a meeting point for residents and visitors during these days, according to the Tías City Council in a press release.
The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, emphasizes “the magnificent response” of the citizens and “the excellent behavior” of the public in all events. “These festivities have been a reflection of the welcoming spirit of our municipality and the involvement of many people and groups who work to ensure that everything goes well.”
José Juan Cruz emphasizes that the program of the festivities of Our Lady of Carmen included around 90 events that took place without notable incidents. “This achievement has been possible thanks to the collaboration and commitment of everyone, so I extend my sincere congratulations to the citizens and to those who made it possible for Puerto del Carmen to experience safe, participatory, and good-spirited festivities,” he adds.
The government group of the Tías City Council wishes to express its gratitude to the residents, associations, the festival committee, the Fishermen's Association, municipal staff, FCC cleaning service, emergency team, Local Police, Civil Protection, Boluntis, and security forces, “for their dedication and effort.”
For her part, the Councilor for Festivities, Miriam Hernández, highlights “the sensitivity and care that people have shown at every moment, enjoying the program with respect and joy.” She recalls that the program had to be modified due to the heatwave over the weekend, but confirms that the festive atmosphere continued strongly in La Tiñosa.
The Tías City Council reiterates its gratitude to all those who have made the success of this celebration possible, especially those who have collaborated in the assembly, organization, and development of each event, and to those who have guaranteed security and order during the festive days.
