The Local Police of Tías has removed this week 72 electric scooters that were in the public domain of different pedestrian areas and streets of Puerto del Carmen. The scooters remain stored in the vehicle depot of the municipality.
The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, and the Councilor for Mobility, Sergio García, recall that in previous years the rental scooters that were operating in Puerto del Carmen were already removed, thus addressing citizen complaints and the numerous cases of traffic accidents caused by these Personal Mobility Vehicles (VMP).
The municipal government group insists that the regulation of public space aims to guarantee road safety, the accessibility of people and citizen coexistence, so it will continue to apply the necessary measures to avoid the improper use of VMP in the municipality.
