Reunión visita de Jacobo Medinam

The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, and the Councilor for Public Works, Ulpiano Calero, received this Wednesday the Councilor for Public Works of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Jacobo Medina, with whom they supervised the works that the island institution is planning in the municipality and confirmed that the Fajardos road will have a road safety project.

The tunnel located on the Fajardos road, in the center of Tías, requires a significant intervention to improve road safety, which is why the counselor committed to transfer to the Government of the Canary Islands the request for funding for the widening of this infrastructure, as well as for the complementary actions planned in the town of Mácher, such as the construction of sidewalks and improvements in public lighting.

In the meeting, in which the island director of Public Works, Álvaro Guillén, also participated, other matters were addressed such as the LZ-503 road project, which connects Conil with Masdache, an intervention that will also include hydraulic works linked to the supply network for the redistribution of water in the area.

Likewise, the counselor conveyed to the mayor that next Monday, March 16, the resurfacing of the road that connects Tegoyo with Conil will proceed, an action that will allow improving the condition of the pavement and reinforcing the road safety of this road.

Regarding the LZ-58 road, which connects Masdache with La Vegueta, José Juan Cruz reminded the counselor that this project drags a complicated and long processing, so he asked for the execution of the separate section or resurfacing proposal, budgeted at one million euros, for the urbanized section through which the road runs, which crosses rural settlement rustic land.

Furthermore, the mayor insisted on “the dangerousness” of the LZ-40 road that connects Puerto del Carmen with the airport and the urgent need to “expedite the awarding” of the duplication project of this road, which registers the transit of a high number of daily vehicles.

José Juan Cruz and Ulpiano Calero presented to the island representative the need to advance in the drafting of the conditioning projects for the Peña del Asiento, Camino del Puerto, and La Vega-Masdache roads.

Finally, the mayor of Tías requested from the island councilor the cleaning of the road margins of the municipality, and both underlined the importance of coordination between administrations to continue promoting improvements in the island road network.
