The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, and the councilor for Children's Parks, Christopher Notario, accompanied by the councilor for Commerce, Miriam Hernández, have inaugurated this Tuesday the Matagorda children's park, inspired by aeronautical themes. This new park quadruples the surface area of the previous one and has involved an investment of 526,120.32 euros financed with the council's own funds.

“We have a modern, accessible, and inclusive space, designed so that children, without exception, can play, share, and grow in a stimulating environment. We expanded the surface area of the previous park to 1,074 square meters, always thinking about accessibility for people with reduced mobility and about shaded areas, with four wooden pergolas,” declared José Juan Cruz.

Christopher Notario highlighted the privileged environment of the park, located next to the sea, and its easy access, "which makes it a new benchmark for family leisure in our municipality." He pointed out that there are 16 play elements, such as a plane multi-game, a six-meter-high control tower with a slide, and a 25-meter zip line, among others.

Notary encouraged the families of the municipality to make use of this space “with responsibility”. “We must take into account that this belongs to everyone and that we all have to take care of it. We are all responsible for public spaces, let’s take care of them and together build a friendlier, more habitable Tías designed for people”.

In addition to having numerous play elements and shaded areas, the park meets quality standards and has the certificate for children's areas in accordance with the safety requirements of standards UNE-EN 1176, 1177, and EN 16630, in addition to guaranteeing the inclusion of people with disabilities and PRM (People with Reduced Mobility).
