The Tías City Council has hired 16 unemployed individuals this Monday to carry out the project called Tías in Motion for Local Integration and Sustainability 2025/2026. The hired individuals will work for one year in various areas of the council, such as Culture, Social Welfare, Sports, and Roads and Works.
The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz Saavedra, accompanied by the councilors for Human Resources and Culture, Tomás Silvera and Pepa González, welcomed the participants in this program and directed them to the different council departments to organize the start of their tasks, reinforcing their professional training
The project has been subsidized by the Canary Employment Service (SCE) with an amount of 349,645.62 euros for the development of useful and reintegration tasks within the framework of the Social Employment Program (PES) for the 2025/2026 period. The objective is to promote the employability of people with greater difficulties in accessing the labor market and contribute to the improvement of municipal public services.
Over the next twelve months, contracted staff will support the operation of strategic areas of the city council, participating in administrative reinforcement, urban maintenance, citizen services, and cultural and sports activities.
The mayor emphasized the importance of continuing to support initiatives that generate opportunities and help improve the quality of life for the municipality's residents. "With this program, we are not only offering a job opportunity, but we are strengthening social cohesion and moving towards a more inclusive model for the municipality," highlighted José Juan Cruz.
