The Department of Equality, managed by Nicolás Saavedra, promoted this event that took place on March 13 with the aim of honoring women from the municipality. A commemorative plaque was presented to Ángeles Pérez Fernández, María de las Nieves Fontes Berriel, Pepi Díaz González, Damiana, Nora and Margot Valiente, and the Magec Tías club.

The gala, organized by the Mararia Association and the Social Welfare area, combined tributes and music, showing once again that the strength of women marks society and, in this case, the municipality of Tías as a whole.

In addition, during the gala, the Voces al Viento quartet performed and the show For and For Them will be presented, which will be performed by Marey Martín and Adrián Sánchez. The event was interpreted by sign language through the Signalanz cooperative.

The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, emphasized "the role of the City Council in demanding gender equality and the recognition of women in all areas".

Nicolás Saavedra stressed the importance of this gala as "a space to make visible the work, effort and female talent and pay tribute to women who have made a difference in our society." The Women with Footprint Gala is one of the central events of the International Women's Day program in Tías and seeks to be a meeting point for reflection and celebration.
