Tías celebrates its II School Health Fair with great student participation

The event took place through 22 stands that dealt with different health-related issues and from which the practice of healthy habits was promoted.

The II School Health Fair of Tías was held this Monday morning in the annex of the Francisco Bermúdez Hernández, Pancho, football field with the direct involvement of the hundreds of participating schoolchildren, belonging to the Early Childhood and Primary Education Centers (CEIP) of the municipality: La Asomada-Mácher, Concepción Rodríguez Arteles, and Alcalde Rafael Cedrés.

The event took place through 22 stands that dealt with different health-related issues and from which the practice of healthy habits related to physical activity, balanced nutrition, and emotional well-being in students was promoted.

Among the objectives of the fair are to promote the active participation of students as promoters of health in their educational and family environment, to encourage the involvement of families in the development and maintenance of healthy lifestyles, to reinforce coordination between educational centers, health professionals, institutions, and associations; and to promote social cohesion, inclusion, and the improvement of coexistence in the educational community.

Games were carried out and practical, dynamic, and participatory workshops were given on personal hygiene, oral health, diversity, emotions, physiotherapy, speech therapy, the birth of a baby, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, mental health, safety, etc.

 

Tías Run

In this edition, the fair has been linked to the afternoon celebration of Tías Run at the CEIP Alcalde Rafael Cedrés as part of health promotion. In addition to the race, the school will host several information stands on diabetes awareness, health through stories, Mobile Blood Donation Unit, safe point with the doctor and nurse of the Basic Health Zone of Tías, tutor agents, and orange point for inclusion.

This fair is organized by the Tías City Council, the Management of Health Services of the Lanzarote Health Area, the school nurse of the Basic Health Zone of Tías, the Adsis Foundation, the management teams of the three CEIPs involved, and the Basic Health Zone of Tías.
