The Young Nationalists of Lanzarote and La Graciosa have launched a solidarity campaign to collect school supplies with the aim of collaborating with families with fewer economic resources at the start of the new school year.
The initiative, developed by the youth organization of Coalición Canaria (CC) under the slogan ‘A small gesture, a big change’ seeks to mobilize citizens and facilitate that minors can have the necessary materials to face classes on equal terms.
“We want to contribute our bit so that no child faces the start of the school year with difficulties due to not having the necessary school supplies,” says the general secretary of Jóvenes Nacionalistas de Lanzarote y La Graciosa, Joel Arbelo.
“We know that September represents a significant economic effort for many families and any help can make a big difference,” adds Arbelo, who encourages citizens to join this solidarity initiative.
The campaign includes the donation of notebooks and notepads, pencils, pens and markers, backpacks, colored pencils and drawing supplies, rulers, compasses and set squares, folders and binders, scissors, glue, calculators, and technological equipment in good condition.
At the headquarters or at home
Those interested in collaborating can drop off their donations until Friday, September 11, at the Coalición Canaria headquarters, located at Avenida Hernández Pacheco, s/n, corner of La Carmen street, in Arrecife. Likewise, those who cannot travel can contact us at 677 851 357, and members of the organization will pick up the materials.
“It is a simple collaboration, but with an important impact for those who need it most,” highlights Arbelo, who underlines this action “as a sign of the commitment of the Jóvenes Nacionalistas Lanzarote y La Graciosa in social initiatives.”
