The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, has paid a visit to the conservation and maintenance works of the Puerto del Carmen Avenue bike lane. These have recently been completed and the actions were carried out in the section between Acatife Street and Italita Avenue.
During the visit, the president and the mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, appreciated the final result of the actions. Dolores Corujo stressed that the works "allow maintaining in the municipality a very important space for the practice of physical activity and for the landscape of Tías".
“A large number of residents and visitors to the island use this section to enjoy outdoor activity and the landscape of our coast, so it was our duty as an Administration to maintain the area so that the infrastructures are in optimal condition,” Corujo stressed.
The project is financed by the Secretary of State for Tourism (Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism), through a subsidy to the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, which in turn granted the Cabildo of Lanzarote a direct subsidy for reasons of public interest for an amount of 357,142.86 euros, in order to develop projects like this. The works were executed by the company Herederos Acuña S.L. for an amount of 339,606.23 euros.
