The Yaiza City Council announced that it "continues with its program to modernize sports infrastructure and build new facilities, taking advantage of and recovering disused public land, as is the case with the court that the town of Femés is opening." A multipurpose court for playing indoor soccer, handball and basketball, integrated into the children's park in the Femés Atrás area, also recently implemented.
“The court alone has six hundred square meters of playing area, so we are putting at the service of neighbors a large safe space dedicated to the development of healthy activities and citizen coexistence, since it is a comfortable facility and meeting point that has stands, sustainable lighting and perimeter fencing,” notes the mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda.
The Councilor for Public Works and Sports of Yaiza, Ángel Lago, highlights “the municipal investment of 220,000 euros for its construction and equipment. Whenever we open a new facility, we make a call to take care of spaces that belong to everyone.” In any case, the Femés court, like the one that has just been completed and opened in Faro Pechiguera, in Playa Blanca, is equipped with vandal-proof goals and baskets. The nearby towns of Femés and Las Casitas now have a welcoming center that meets a need in terms of sports infrastructure.
