The Centers for Art, Culture and Tourism have already received the two new eco-efficient buses approved for the transport of People with Reduced Mobility (P.M.R.) with which they complete the renewal of the collective transport that operates on the Volcano Route.
These are two hybrid technology vehicles, capable of transporting 51 people using an approved removable structure, or 55, if there is no P.M.R. among the passengers. They have been acquired through a public tender charged to the FDCAN for an amount of "514,000 euros", they have detailed.
These two new buses are incorporated into the fleet with which the Tourist Centers offer a collective transport "more modern, safe, sustainable and inclusive" in the peculiar route of the Mountains of Fire. “We are breaking down accessibility barriers to offer all our visitors the possibility of being protagonists of a unique experience”, pointed out the Entity's counselor, Ángel Vázquez.
The renewal of the fleet has had a total cost of "1,980,700 euros" from the Canary Islands Development Fund for the 2.8.5 Sustainable Mobility program.
