Within the program of activities organized by the Tías City Council on the occasion of International Women's Day, next Thursday, March 13, the Women with Footprint gala will take place at the Tías Municipal Theater.

The Department of Equality, managed by Nicolás Saavedra, has promoted this event, which will begin at 8:00 p.m., with the aim of honoring women from the municipality. A commemorative plaque will be presented to Ángeles Pérez Fernández, María de las Nieves Fontes Berriel, Pepi Díaz González, Damiana, Nora and Margot Valiente, and the Magec Tías club.

In addition, the Voces al Viento quartet will perform during the gala, and the show For and For Them, which will be performed by Marey Martín and Adrián Sánchez, will be presented. The act will be interpreted by sign language through the Signalanz cooperative.

The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, invites all citizens to participate in this gala and in the rest of the activities programmed within the framework of 8M, while emphasizing "the role of the City Council in demanding gender equality and the recognition of women in all areas".

Nicolás Saavedra emphasizes the importance of this gala as "a space to make visible the work, effort, and female talent and pay tribute to the women who have made a difference in our society." The Women with Footprint gala is one of the central events of the International Women's Day program in Tías and seeks to be a meeting point for reflection and celebration.

To close the program, on March 15, the activity Trail with Footprint will be held, a walk from Los Lirios to the Tegoyo picnic area. With a low difficulty and a 3 km route, this walk seeks to promote community participation in a natural environment. Registrations can be made through the email o.agroecologiaydr@ayuntamientodetias
