The government group of the Teguise City Council asks the PSOE to carry out "responsible opposition" and not to "deceive" the population about a possible indebtedness of the council.
The spokespersons for the government group, Javier Díaz and Rita Hernández, regret that the socialist councilors "act without rigor, without knowledge and with the sole aim of confusing the citizens of the municipality to obtain electoral gain."
They explain that the municipal plenary session approved this Wednesday a budget modification to "dedicate part of the remainder to pay some expropriations. Likewise, it gave the green light to the request for a loan of 3,100,000 euros to definitively settle the expenses derived from old judicial procedures, as is the case of Caleta de Caballo, and some other procedures that had been pending for some years and that the time has come to solve."
The government group defends the financial operation as an effective formula, common in institutions, and its sole purpose is to prevent "interest from continuing to increase, which would indebt the City Council and force it to face items in future years of the budget, which would directly subtract from other items of basic public services for the municipality."
Therefore, the government group considers that this decision "effectively and practically defends the interests of the residents of Teguise, since it only intends to solve a situation that comes from behind and that must be resolved so that it does not affect basic municipal services."
