The citizens of the municipality of Tías will have the possibility, from March 9 to April 9, to participate online in the destination of an allocation of 150,000 euros from the budget of the City Council. After months of debate and community work, the first edition of the participatory budgets reaches its final phase.

The voting will be exclusively digital through the Tías City Council website, where there will be a form with the options previously put forward by the citizens and divided into two blocks, the investment proposals and the current expenditure proposals.

The form includes the three finalist proposals from the investment chapter, which will require a work or construction, and one of the options must be chosen. Six spending proposals will also appear, which will consist of an activity, workshop, or program, and four of them will be launched. Residents over 16 years of age will be able to vote.

The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, highlights the quality of the proposals presented and recalls that this vote “is not an isolated event, but the result of a process of open assemblies where the citizenry has been the true protagonist. For weeks, the residents of the different nuclei of the municipality have debated, filtered, and worked on proposals that respond to real needs detected from the territory itself.”

The first deputy mayor and Councilor for Citizen Participation, Nicolás Saavedra, highlights “the exemplary commitment” of those who have dedicated their time to these assemblies. "We are not facing office proposals, but facing projects with names and surnames, born from active listening and neighborhood consensus. This is the first step so that the citizen of Tías is not only managed, but is a manager of their own reality", he adds.
