The Tías City Council has reported that Princesa Ico Street, in Puerto del Carmen, has a total of 130 parking spaces after the recent execution of conservation and maintenance works, included in the 2021 Municipal Cooperation Plan of the Cabildo de Lanzarote. They assure from the Consistory that this translates into the creation of 70 new parking spaces.
From the City Council they assure that they have been able to "respond to the requests of the residents of Princesa Ico Street and surroundings, given the forecast of creating only 60 parking spaces if the road was maintained in both directions with the required security measures."
The works have been carried out throughout the summer with a budget of 345,049 euros. The works consisted of the execution of the underground channeling in the sections not executed previously comprising five road crossings and a section under the sidewalk, all with their corresponding records in the road crossings and under sidewalks.
In addition, the Consistory assures that a section of sidewalk was executed with curbs and paving stones with the same characteristics as those already executed in the rest of the street, and the area destined for vehicles was repaved by means of the contribution of two layers of asphalt pavement, a layer of regularization and another layer of rolling. Finally, the definitive signage was placed and prepared for gardening.
