The Cabildo of Lanzarote has put out to tender the refurbishment of the La Graciosa heliport. Oswaldo Betancort assures that this work is "great news for the island", since it is "a demanded and necessary intervention for the residents of the eighth island, who will soon have the guarantee of having a heliport in perfect condition for any emergency."

The heliport refurbishment works have a budget of 166,639.64 euros and an execution period of five months. The Minister of Finance and Contracting, María Jesús Tovar, recalls that companies interested in this tender have until August 16 at 09.00 hours to submit applications.

"It was unacceptable that they had an underutilized and poorly maintained facility, and with this great project we will achieve a modern heliport that is operational 24 hours a day," adds the Councilor of the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, Francisco Aparicio.

From the Cabildo of Lanzarote they affirm that "they continue with their commitment to improving security on the island of La Graciosa, also adding the arrival of a medicalized ambulance", which is scheduled for next September.
