The improvement works of the facilities of the Insular Center of Nautical Sports have already been put out to tender, for an amount of 280,000 euros. Among the actions that will be carried out in the center includes the adaptation and improvement of the staff's changing rooms, the removal of asbestos cement roofs and the placement of a new roof in the entire area of boat hangars, warehouse workshop, material warehouse and windsurfing warehouse.
With the remodeling work, the roof and the channeling of rainwater will also be expanded in the area of boat hangars, the adaptation and improvement of the ticket office, including the replacement of doors, as well as the adaptation of the floor (non-slip treatment) in the area of boat hangars, workshop and warehouses. In addition, the windsurfing area will be adapted and the electrical installation and lighting of the center will be legalized and adapted.
It was the PP who announced the publication of this contest, highlighting that the works have been "promoted" by the Area of Public Works, Planning and Coordination of Projects of the Cabildo and by the Department of Sports, directed until last week by the popular councilors Jacobo Medina and Kiko Aparicio.
According to Jacobo Medina, "this new investment, co-financed by the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN), will mean an important improvement in these sports facilities, also allowing the legalization and adaptation of the electrical network and public lighting of the center".
For his part, the until now responsible for Sports of the island institution, Kiko Aparición, wanted to highlight "the commitment that has been made from the area to modernize the sports facilities of the island and, in this case, provide the Insular Center of Nautical Sports with important improvements to serve with full guarantees the thousands of users who practice sailing, swimming, canoeing or windsurfing".
