The PSOE of Tinajo denounces the "waste" of Christmas lights and the lack of public lighting

“It is unacceptable that, while resources are being wasted with lights on out of season, many streets in Tinajo remain in darkness, putting the safety and well-being of residents at risk,” adds the opposition party.

The PSOE of Tinajo, through its spokesperson, Begoña Hernández, has denounced the persistence of Christmas lights on in the municipality eleven days after the end of the holidays, a fact they describe as energy waste and mismanagement. For the opposition party, the situation "not only represents an unnecessary expense" in the current context of the energy crisis, but also "seriously affects public lighting, since the lampposts where the Christmas lights are installed remain off or lack functional lamps."

“It is unacceptable that, while resources are being wasted with lights on out of season, many streets in Tinajo remain in darkness, putting the safety and well-being of residents at risk,” Hernández pointed out. The socialist spokesperson added that “this demonstrates an alarming lack of planning and sensitivity on the part of the government group, which seems more concerned with temporary aesthetics than with guaranteeing basic services such as public lighting.”

The PSOE demands that the municipal government group take immediate measures to solve this situation, prioritizing energy saving and adequate lighting of the municipality. In addition, Hernández stressed that “at a time when citizens are being asked to make efforts to save energy, it is unacceptable for administrations not to set an example. It is not just about wasting resources, but also about sending a message of irresponsibility on an issue as sensitive as energy consumption.”

The socialist formation regrets that the lack of foresight and effective management continue to affect the daily lives of citizens. “Coalición Canaria is increasingly harming Tinajo with its inaction,” Hernández concluded.
