The Socialist Party (PSOE) of Teguise revalidates this June 28, International LGTBI Pride Day, its commitment to freedom and equality to build a more "tolerant, inclusive, egalitarian and free" society.
This is how they pronounce through a press release this Saturday, in which they report "their firm support" in the last plenary session held in Teguise to the declaration of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) on the occasion of a new 28J.
A declaration that the socialists applaud, aimed at "guaranteeing the rights and freedoms of all people, regardless of their sexual orientation", and which enjoyed the unanimous vote of the municipal plenary.
In it, among other issues, "the role of local governments in promoting safe, inclusive and respectful environments, in which diversity is understood as a shared value that enriches life in the community" is underlined.
The councilor, David Asorey, during his speech pointed out, "the commitment of the socialist group to equality, diversity and the rights of all people, regardless of who they love or how they identify themselves."
"Because loving freely is a right, not a privilege; because real equality is built every day, with courageous policies and with a society that does not take a step back; because Teguise and La Graciosa must continue to be a municipality where we all fit, with dignity, respect and freedom," he continued.
To conclude, he highlighted, "the 'pride' of taking the floor on this 28J, coinciding with the twentieth anniversary of the approval of the law on equal marriage, an achievement that allows us to remember the great Pedro Zerolo and the Government of Zapatero, who promoted a law that has made so many people happy."
